Hello, I’m Rosie, a home studio based florist and owner of The Rambling Rose.
To me flowers offer so much excitement, hope of what’s to come with new seasons, never ending wonder of the process and natural form each flower takes on from seed, and how, of so many thousands of flowers and plants, no two are the same. I try to maintain this through my work and capture the natural, wild beauty of each flower within each and every floral design I create.
My love for all things natural has gradually evolved over the years. I grew up on a farm and always loved being outside, in the garden and fields. At school I helped out at a local flower shop for extra work experience and properly discovered the joy of fresh cut flowers. I then studied a degree in Decorative Arts where my key inspirations always came back to finding beauty in wild and natural materials. After graduating, I fully immersed myself into the floristry world, where I worked and trained as a florist while studying at Askham Bryan. I went on to become owner of the flower shop I’d been working at and in 2015 Rosebuds was born! I had so much fun and so many beautiful creations and memories were made with the best team behind me. I then took a break to enjoy family time with my babies and spent lots of hours in the garden growing flowers and vegetables and enjoying the changing seasons. I’m now back at it, based in North Yorkshire with over 10 years of floristry experience and knowledge behind me, more excited than ever for the floral creations to come!
I cater for private and corporate floral events, weddings, funerals and seasonal occasions across North Yorkshire and beyond.
